Winter Tips For Those In Direct Sales

Baby It’s Cold Outside, but DIRECT SALES are HOT! HOT! HOT!

Let’s face it, cold, windy, snow, and nobody wants to go outside once home for the evening.  So how do you get people to come to your presentations, parties and makeovers?  You just want to get into something comfy and warm and put your feet up.  Sounds inviting and then you remember you are an Entrepreneur and promoting your business is a year round activity and you will make your 2016 goals.

Themed events have become quite popular and planning them is even more fun.  It is freezing outside and you are having a Hawaiian Luau inside with tropical punch, ham and pineapple bites on a toothpick, soft tropical music playing.  Cut out some tropical pictures and have around tying in with your product/service.   Give everyone a lei (dollar store) and ask your guests to come in their most colourful summer blouses or shirts.  Offer an incentive, trade in your lei for a discount on your order.  Offer small door prize to the one who does the hula dance the longest or correctly answers the most questions about Hawaii.  The atmosphere brightens everyone’s mood and if you invite a travel agent you might find she will get business too!  This one works for just about any direct sales business you are representing.

A New Year, New You Party works especially well for pampering and spa style presentations (face and body care companies).   Serve beverages in champagne flutes, pick up some noisemakers from the dollar store and be heard.  This is a great idea for companies that represent healthy eating and weight loss too.  Makes sure any refreshments are complimentary to the businesses being promoted.

February is the month of love.  Have a presentation for couples with products that are suitable for both.  For example anything to do with food, coffee, tea, cleaning, professional services.  Many skin care companies cater to men also.

You can build a theme around any time of the year, but in the winter it is always more fun to bring the sunshine indoors and get together with friends while looking at some great products at affordable prices.
