Think Pink Week!

I almost forgot that  this important week is upon us. As a two time breast cancer survivor I strive to bring awareness to everyone about this terrible disease. Evidently breast cancer awareness is still not reaching everyone. The people who have already been touched by breast cancer in one way or another are taking notice and that is wonderful. Unfortunately the other half of the population are the ones who either believe that : cancer does not run in my family therefore I will never be diagnosed with the disease, or I am too old, too young, or too healthy: or are too scared to look at the awareness campaigns because they are scared of the word "cancer".

The reason I almost let this week pass by me is that I am sick in bed at the moment with a kidney infection and it was not until today I felt strong enough to even think about turning on my laptop let alone realising what day of the week it was. Fortunately I realised what an important week this is in time to spread the word to everyone who reads this. All over the world people will be hosting Think Pink events not only to raise awareness but also to raise money towards research. I urge you all to encourage everyone to take notice of the awareness campaigns  out there because early detection really does save lives. Ignorance may be bliss but it does not mean you will not succumb to breast cancer. More women and men are surviving this disease because the awareness campaigns, along with healthy lifestyle, and early detection, really does work. Unfortunately more younger people are being diagnosed with breast cancer so every age group has to be aware and not scared of going to the doctor if they suspect they have a health challenge.
