Technology concepts are changing every day, and speech recognition is no different. What is speech recognition? Any technology that allows you turn talk into text! Dragon NaturallySpeaking is one of these technologies, and you may not even know that you are using it. If you have a new iPhone and are using Siri, that is a form of speech recognition. Siri is listening to your words and commands and performing the actions you are requesting. How about Android users? You may have noticed the microphone icon next to the space bar when your keyboard appears, touch it and you are prompted to 'Speak Now'. Once you pause, your spoken words are converted into text. There is also a Dragon Dictation app available for iPhone, Blackberry and Android users that allows you to talk into the app, it converts your words into text, and then you can email, twitter or facebook your messages, or copy and paste them anywhere else on your devices!
Now, let's take this a step further - if you can do all of this on your mobile devices, imagine what you could do on your computer! If you are building a business, you're most likely spending some time emailing prospective clients, taking notes of conversations and meetings, documenting various information, searching the internet, and more, all on your computer. Some of us have difficulty typing quickly, maybe you're a 'hunt and peck' kind of typer, or typing might be the task you defer because it's not what you enjoy most about your business. Let Dragon NaturallySpeaking and a digital recorder take care of the boring, time consuming effort of entering information into reports, email and worksheets - with automated downloading of files and conversion to text made simple. Dictate directly into your database, email client, word processors and social media, navigate the computer using voice commands like 'send an email to...' capture ideas and meeting notes into a digital recorder while you are on-the-go and more!
Think of it this way - if you could save 30 minutes a day, that's 2 1/2 hours per week, what could you do with that extra time? Here's some ideas: book a client or two for coffee, meet new people at a networking event, take your family out to dinner, go to your son/daughter's sporting event, take some quality time for yourself...
