Small Business Community Network (SBCN) Celebrates 10 Years Thanks to Everyone

Happy to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Small Business Community Network (SBCN) this evening, along with Dave Ockwell-Jenner co-founder. Thanks to all of our community supporters, sponsors, TELUS,Waterloo Region Small Business Centre,Greater Barrie Business Centre,Stratford Country Club, volunteers,Brendan Waller,Nelson Dunk,Angela Collens & Dina Elliott & long time member Adam Smith. Without your support we would not have been able to help so many SMB's grow their business to the next level. www.sbcncanada.org to check out our wonderful members.

When Dave and I came up with the idea for the SBCN 10 years ago this month we had no idea where it would take us, the many businesses we would help along the way and the fantastic people we would come into contact with and build lasting relationships. We have seen businesses grow and prosper, we have seen businesses change and progres, we have seen businesses come and go, change is crucial when building a business.

Sadly we have lost some of our members over the years, some members have passed away from critical illness or fatal accidents, our thoughts are with the families and friends of those members who we till hold dear in our hearts. We have, in a roundabout way, been responsible for at least two of our members building a life long alliance by getting married!

Dave and I truly believe that the Small Business Community Network (SBCN) is the organization it is because of the people who are involved, because of the people who trust us to help them, the people who offer their time volunteering, and beause of the people who help us via sponsorships and community partnerships. No business can stand alone, for long, no business can succeed without a loyal community of people who believe that the business has something to offer.

Many people say that Dave and Linda are the organization and we are the hub of the SBCN, and yes that is partly true, but again, without the trust and loyalty and respect of our many members we would not be here today.

Building healthy, happy and successful communities has always been our goal and if we have succeeded in a small way to change the lives of people who deserve and work hard to be successful, then we know we are on the right path and our journey will continue for many more years.

Thank You! Hope to see as many of you as possible at the SBCN 10th Anniversary Party tonight, it is going to be fun, lots of new people to meet and get to know, Dave OJ is the DJ in the house, I will be running around as per normal introducing people to each other with a glass of red wine in one hand I am sure:)
