The SBCN is a business networking organization with a difference. We assist business owners in the area of networking. We give them th tools to network effectively, efficiently and on a consistent basis. Knowing how to network, when to network, where to network, are three crucial pieces of the puzzle where networking is concerned. The SBCN mentors and offers benefits and opportunities to small business owners who want to know how to combine traditional networking with social media.
Linda Ockwell-Jenner is joined by Tim Elgar, Director of Small Business Services, American Express Canada to discuss the latest Small Business Monitor. This ongoing study, of which this is the 17th report, looks at issues facing small businesses. It provides excellent insights into what motivates small business owners and it's perhaps not what you think!
One of the tips we want to share with you today is simple but small business owners sometimes don't have time to think about the important basics of running their small business. Ensuring your website is up and running and kept up to date is crucial. Your domain name also needs to be secure so make sure you not only pay the fee when requiested for your domain name but ensure the security fixes are all taken care of. If your domain name expires you will not have a website to showcase. Another thing people may forgot to check up on is your email, is it working?
The SBCN will be celebrating 12 years of assisting small business owners thsi coming November. How time flies. One question we are asked often is "How did you grow your business and continue an upward growth"? Easy answer, consistency, credibility and community, three important things in any business growth. Why not come along and meet the co-founders of the SBCN on Wednesday 15th April at WRSBC, Kitchener City Hall, at this monts networking event?
