**Be honest**, please, be totally honest. When you offer your elevator pitch at a networking event do you ever look around and see who is taking notice? Can you see the people who are looking bored, or even scared because you are trying to sell to them in 30 seconds?

**If we could sell** to someone in an elevator after throwing everything we offer at them in 30 seconds, I would certainly be a multimillionaire! I can talk fast, I can influence people, I can charm prospects. I have a British accent for goodness sake, of course I can sell!

Let's be realistic here, and think carefully how we feel when someone stands up at a networking event and tries to cram everything they do into a 30 second **introduction,** and that's what it is an *introduction*. I**t should not be a speech,** it **should not be a pitch,** it should be an *introduction.*

**Influence others** to want to know more about *YOU*. Share something in your introduction, other than your name, & your business name, that interests them. Share something that leaves them wanting to know more - about *YOU.*

*Your thoughts are very welcome, they help me improve in many ways, thank you.*
