Hockey Helps the Homeless K-W – Year 5

A day of hockey and fun for a good cause. Craig Herner and Ultimate Vision Web & IT Solutions have been supporters of this annual fundraiser tournament since 2014. Hockey Helps the Homeless is a national charity that holds annual tournaments in 11 cities across the country. The Kitchener-Waterloo event is in its fifth year, raising over $550,000 in the first four. All proceeds support five local homelessness agencies including YW Kitchener-Waterloo, oneROOF Youth Services, Lutherwood Safe Haven Shelter, House of Friendship and HHUG – Homelessness Housing Umbrella Group.

There are many ways you can get involved, you don’t even have to know how to skate or play hockey. Of course, we are looking for adult male and female players to fill up all of our 16 teams. If you don’t play hockey but still want to take part in our tournament, you can be a fundraiser on our 17th team and be an Honourary Skater. Other ways to get involved include sponsoring, donating to a player, team or the tournament, donating an item to our online or silent auctions, donating some new hats, mitts or scarves, or volunteering to help on October 26th.

The funds we raise each year are critical to the five agencies we support, especially when other funding streams have been shrinking in recent years.
